Description

August is the month when new trainees begin their apprenticeship at Swisscom.
To best introduce them to the company, 2 weeks of training are held during which many topics such as data security, company structure, work model, etc. are covered.

The issue

In order to check the students' understanding of the information during the training, multiple-choice quits are conducted.
Until last year, the test results were checked manually by the First Steps team, but immediately there were problems related to the time required for correction (too long) and the corrections were inaccurate.

The solution
This year, for the first time, an app was made available to trainers that automatically checks the answers once they have been submitted, assigns the total score achieved by the trainee, and publishes it a few seconds later.
This app allows you coaches to have a general and detailed overview of their trainees' results in an organized and simple way.
The developmentI thanks to the support of an IT operator trainee I developed the entire application from scratch.
The product was developed on PowerApps, a low-code/no-code development platform offered by Microsoft for creating custom applications for business as far as the frontend part is concerned (graphics, usability), while for the backend part we used PowerAutomate that allowed us to make all the flows to be able to visualize the answers given in the quizzes in the application and check if it was correct or wrong going then to automatically modify graphics in the app.

Conclusions

The users liked the app, it was used a lot by the trainers, and we received only 2 tickets related to two small errors in the backend part of the app.
Successful project!
